3-D Questionable Mug??

MUG

What's so questionable about my project?
My mug has to be the weirdest one out there, they're to many handles to chose from and not know which one to grab from. The mug size is bigger then regular mugs so its questionable to know if you can drink out of it. From so many handles to chose from the mug looks like its from another world.

I used clay and glaze for this project, I like the texture it gave it and how easy it was to mold the handles. The glaze was green and made me think of slime which gave me the idea to paint it green.

I incorporated scale and proportion in this project with each handle, each one took time and effort just like any other project anyone has. The Little cubes were made individual score and slip was done. The twisted handle was added evenly because if not the handle would have fallen.

Portraits Bob Marley

 BoB Marley

Starting out with bob i had to put together the wood which made the frame , next step was to wrap around the plastic. For the dirt and seeds to hold.
Brandon and i cut bob out with the blade, it took time but it was well worth it since it turned out so well.
I chose bob marley since i was listening to his music in class which made me get the idea of making him. The songs are really nice beat and make you realize the small joys of  life. Then as soon as i thought of him grass came to mind. I knew it would difficult but the results turned to be actually nice. Laying Down the soil was the first step. Made sure they were all tucked in the soil and left some on the top. Spraying it was pretty difficult because it dried out so quickly. The first day mo results. It took about a whole week until the grass started to grow, and another week for it to start shaping to bob Marley. Working on this portrait was really fun. I love how it was such a big challenge. There was a lot of risk taking in this project because i had no idea if the grass was going to grow since it was cold and the sun was never out for a while. The material i used which is grass, impact the artist because he is a big hippie and is also really into nature's beauty. Also who is from the natural environment. Which is how i saw the connection in this piece.

Sticky and Repetition DREAMCATCHER

!dReAmCaTcHeR!

In this project I decided to do a dream catcher, since there is more of a inside picture. The repetition is the feathers also along with the ying yang sign. The sticky situation is through the net, its where your nightmares are caught. Its stuck in the net therefore its not with you mentally. I didn't want to make this project so literal so I thought more out the box for this idea. I used acrylic paint for this project and put it on a canvas. I feel like I mixed the colors rather well to make those certain feathers and background. The biggest challenge in this project has to be the ying yang symbol to be even as well with the circle. I'm very proud that I made this dream catcher since now its hanging very nicely on my wall.

Swirly Snail

Up Close & Personal.

With the theme up close and personal I chose a snail to show its shell is his own kind which of course known to be personal. I made the snail different colors showing its personality. I made sure to put more emphasis on the shell. I put difference shades of blues and purples because it gave it more of a better texture. I used more emphasis on the to make it look realistic instead of the solid look on the paper. I used tempera paint since it was my first time using it and it was more of my own experiment. More of my own touch to it, to show also my favorite type of colors and textures. The tempera paint really worked out well with my piece and how the colors fade off through the circle. In my painting I took multiple risk with the whole process. With the troubles of getting out the lines. I learned a lot though with how to use the brushes and how well they do or do not mix with others. Out of the five characteristics i think my piece is more with technique, because of the forms i did with my paint brush and how I used them.

What's the point ?

Whats the point?
Whats the point , in anything. Everything has a point even here my ice cream. Has a point, there's not much to explain.Plain and simple usually when a child wants ice cream the parents make it happen. but then there's children in need and barely get any food. Depending on their situation either family problems or something simple as ice cream. The message i was trying to bring out to you is even if its just ice cream or simpler than that you should always be grateful.
I did my work in pencil and just shaded with the shading tool. I used lots of contrast with the shadowing and the indention of the ice cream its self. The cone had texture with the diamonds and shading involved with it.
Along with the clouds behind it to show its image more vividly. Medium i used is the value scale to help me through out the shading and build up the features of the ice cream. Techniques of shading was the shading tool and my finger through the whole paper. i was risking lot of things in my picture and that worked , also had a couple fail. The clouds were more like free drawing not really looking at a specific picture and more of the imagery through my head.
